FCDC is one of a kind

FCDC was recommended to us by a friend and I can’t say how amazing the staff and Centre were over the years. Both of our children attended the Centre and made lifelong memories. The staff are wonderful and are always looking out for the best interests of the kids. Keep up the great work, FCDC really is a special place!

We enrolled our child who has a diagnosis of ASD and it was the best decision we could of made . After trying previous centres we found that FCDC has highly skilled staff who have years of experience in their field and with the integration process . Continuity of staff was a huge bonus to establish routines and continuous use of strategies implemented . The environment of the centre is welcoming and staff are always pleasant and offer feedback daily. Meals are very nutritious and laid out for each week . We had such great success that we enrolled our child who does not have a diagnosis. The skills that FCDC helped prepare them for in life and the upcoming JK years was so valuable. We highly recommend FCDC.

“When we first joined Frontenac Club Day Care we knew immediately that our two year old autistic son was in the right environment for his development and well-being.  Prior to joining Frontenac Club, he had adequate one-on-one care at his previous day care, but they reached a point where they were unable to meet his needs, despite being provided funding from other sources.  At Frontenac Club, he didn’t need one-on-one care because the integration model worked so well for him.  The qualifications and experience that the staff of the day care were able to put in practice everyday made it a fun, calm and welcoming environment for him to come to every day.  The staff became a part of our son’s “team” and were able to provide us with strategies that we continue to use, and we encourage others that work with our son to incorporate as well.  Contrary to popular belief, our son is quite social and loved being around his peers and developed social and communication skills through their example.  We found that the environment wasn’t just a nurturing place for our son to grow and learn, the daycare was also a place for typical children to understand and embrace inclusivity in a natural way.  I witnessed many instances of the other children independently employing the approaches they had learned through example in order to engage our son and help him with daily routines.  Our son’s integration wasn’t just for his benefit, but to the benefit of all the children attending as well.  Frontenac Club became an extension of our family, and not only took amazing care of our son, but also gave us hope that he could thrive in other learning environments in the future as well.”

Our lives changed

Our lives changed the day our daughter started at Frontenac Club Day Care. The staff at FCDC were outstanding and we always felt comfortable dropping her off each day. It was the one place she would willingly walk up to the door and walk right inside without hesitation. We knew that her teachers, her resource teacher and all of the staff at the daycare had her best interests at heart. The entire FCDC team treated her like one of their own and were extremely thorough in communicating with us about our daughter’s day. Even with all of her dietary restrictions, the delicious in-house lunch and snacks provided were always considering her needs and they would do everything they could to accommodate her. When it was hard for us to communicate the reasons behind her dietary restrictions, FCDC never asked questions, they just helped us, with no judgment, in discovering how to help our daughter feel her best at all times.

The interaction with other children through their remarkable Integration Programme allowed our daughter to make connections and friendships that we’ll remember forever. We would have liked for her to stay there much longer, but when it was time for our daughter to transition into school, her team went above and beyond by attending school transition meetings, assisting with all of our paperwork and helping us get organized, and even preparing her ‘All About Me’ profile to help others get to know her through their deep understanding of her daily hardships. Our family is forever grateful for our connection with Frontenac Club Day Care.
